In an exciting announcement, Honor Porsche Design Smartphone unveiled their global collaboration, signalling a venture into the realm of high-end innovation and premium design for smart devices. The initial product resulting from this partnership is set to make its debut in China come January of the following year. While the specific device remains unnamed, speculation points to a potential collaboration involving a variant of the upcoming Honor Magic 6 series co-developed with Porsche Design.

About the Partnership

Through a Weibo post, Honor made the partnership official, showcasing a poster on the Chinese micro-blogging platform adorned with the logos of both brands and the tagline “Born for Pioneers.”

Honor’s CEO, George Zhao, expressed his enthusiasm in a press release, stating, “We are honoured to work with a partner like Porsche Design and to explore how openness and innovative collaboration can merge exceptional design and outstanding performance to bring state-of-the-art technology to the premium segment of smart devices.” Zhao emphasized the alignment of Honor’s human-centric design with Porsche Design’s philosophy, envisioning the creation of intelligent luxury products that cater to tech enthusiasts and Porsche aficionados alike. He added, “This long-term collaboration between Honor and Porsche Design opens exciting new opportunities to bolster our growth in markets around the world.”

Honor Porsche Design Smartphone Magic 6 RSR: What to expect?

A shared image featuring Professor Ferdinand Alexander Porsche, the original designer of the iconic Porsche 911, was also revealed by Honor. It’s worth noting that Huawei, Honor’s former parent company, had previously collaborated with Porsche Design on editions of Huawei Mate series smartphones.

The much-anticipated inaugural smart device arising from the Honor-Porsche Design collaboration is scheduled for unveiling in China in January 2024. Speculation suggests the possibility of a Porsche Design edition within Honor’s Magic 6 flagship lineup, set to run on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC with enhanced AI integration and upgraded satellite communication features. The Honor Porsche Design Smartphone is rumoured to include a Magic Capsule feature reminiscent of Apple’s Dynamic Island and a 160-megapixel periscope zoom camera along with Omni Vision’s OV50K main sensor.
